Scotland Votes to Remain with the United Kingdom

As has been discussed in the prior posts on Scotland and the independence vote from the United Kingdom, citizens in Scotland voted yesterday on whether to become a completely independent state. The results have been tallied, and the majority have voted to remain a part of the United Kingdom. According to the BBC, With the results in from all 32 council areas, the “No” side won with 2,001,926 votes over 1,617,989 votes for “Yes.”

With this result, there have been calls for addition powers for Scotland within the United Kingdom (BBC).
