For example, if you are looking for ways to supplement your other scholarships for international relations studies, then look for scholarships that offer money for students or scholars to study international relations. Some offer money that can be used towards classes, whereas others may be available for books.

There are a number of international relations scholarships that are through the United States government. Often, these scholarships provide funding for the individual, but some of them require some form of service. For example, “Students interested in entering the U.S. Department of State foreign service upon graduation can receive extra help and support from the Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs fellowship programs, offered through a partnership between the U.S. Department of State and the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. Pickering Fellows are given academic and professional preparation to enter the U.S. foreign service and represent America’s interests abroad. As a Pickering Fellow, you’ll receive mentoring, professional development and financial support, including up to $40,000 annually for tuition, room and board, books and fees.” (US News and World Report).
Another popular government scholarship is the Boren Fellowship. The “Boren Fellowships, an initiative of the National Security Education Program, provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The countries of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are excluded (NSEP).
Boren Fellows represent a vital pool of highly motivated individuals who wish to work in the federal national security arena. In exchange for funding, Boren Fellows commit to working in the federal government for at least one year after graduation.
There are also other international relations scholarships that are related to travel and/or foreign languages. As we know, foreign languages are a popular field of study within international relations or international studies. Many graduate programs in international relations, or employers for international relations are looking for people with some knowledge of at least one foreign language. Thus, try to find international relations scholarships that might pay for the cost of a foreign language course, foreign language books, or room and board, as well as tuition for a program on a particular language.
For example, here is one example of a scholarship related to the topic of international relations scholarships. This is the Middlebury Critical Language Program that is offered in the Summer at Middlebury College. Language Scholarship. In terms of this scholarship, “The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is a fully funded summer overseas language and cultural immersion program for American undergraduate and graduate students. Related to organizations, the International Studies Association is another well-known organization related to international studies and international relations. The ISA is known for a yearly conference on international studies, as well as their year round work on international studies issues in the field. They also have regional conferences, and opportunities for networking and discussing the discipline for those who want to have an interest in working on international issues. Below are a couple of ISA related scholarships. These scholarships may be useful for those looking for international relations scholarships, or international affairs scholarships.
Pacific Region Scholarships
ISA is proud to announce the addition of $10,000 in scholarships for students studying in Australia, New Zealand, or Fiji with programs beginning between May 2016 and February 2017.

DEADLINES & OTHER INFORMATION
Complete applications must be RECEIVED at the ISA Headquarters in Austin by:
- Summer: February 28
- Fall/Year: April 30
- Winter/Spring: October 30
Scholarship application documents and completed program applications and materials must be received at the ISA Headquarters in Austin by these dates. Scholarship application deadlines are evaluated independently of program application deadlines and will not be extended even if the program application deadline is extended. Late, incomplete and/or ineligible applications will not be considered.
Qualifying applicants may also apply for other ISA and host university scholarships, but students will only be awarded a maximum of one ISA scholarship.

Kalyn Peterson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is offered in the memory of Kalyn Elizabeth Peterson whose life was cut tragically short in 2010. Kalyn leaves behind a legacy of promoting diversity and putting others’needs before her own. From a young age Kalyn volunteered her time at a major hospital and was involved in several other civic organizations. Recognized for her abilities to bring about the best in others, Kalyn’s talents to help others less fortunate will be memorialized through the recipient of this scholarship.
The award from this scholarship began in 2011 and is offered exclusively for participants enrolled in an ISA Service-Learning program.
