Gamal Abdel Nasser and Yemen

I wanted to bring to your attention an interesting op ed in the New York Times by Jesse Ferris entitled “Nasser’s Ghost Hovers Over Yemen.” In the piece, Ferris discusses the role of former Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel Nasser‘s role in Yemen during his tenure, and the effects that this had on the politics of Yemen then and today.

I recommend taking a look at the piece. It is important to keep in mind that with current conflicts, there is often a history that needs to be understood, since events in the past often shape current situations. The case for Yemen is no different. We will be working on an article with regards to the situation in Yemen, and will publish it when completed.
